Lisbon is full of great restaurants and bars.
Here are some that we like!
A Cevicheria: A Cevicheria: Great seafood/ceviche spot in Príncipe Real. There will likely be a wait, put your name down and grab some pisco sours at the window while you wait. You can order some small dishes before your table is ready.
Versailles: A neighborhood restaurant in Belem. Great sea bass, very simple and flavorful. After lunch, grab a Pastel de Nata at Pastéis de Belém (just down the road) and walk to the water.
Forno d’Oro: A pizza place loved by Jahan’s dad, so we’d be remiss not to recommend it! Make a reservation in advance if you can!
Cervejaria Ramiro: A very classic Lisbon establishment, and one of Anthony Bourdain’s favorites. Seafood forward, but don’t forget to order the Bifana (steak sandwich) for the end of your meal.
Ponto Final: Take the ferry across the river to Almada for traditional Portuguese food at Ponto Final. Try to go around sunset and make a reservation in advance!
Taberna da Rua das Flores: A cozy spot in Chiado serving Portuguese small plates. The menu changes daily, expect a wait.
Manteigaria: You can’t come to Lisbon and not try Pastel de Nata from a few places. This one is really good! You can find locations all over the city.
Rooftops: Lisbon has tons of rooftop restaurants/bars with amazing views. Lumi Rooftop, Memmo Principe Real, SEEN Sky Bar, and Park Rooftop (head into the parking garage and take the elevator up) are all worth a visit.
Casa Independente: A cute hidden bar that feels like you’re walking into someone’s apartment building. Go up a flight of stairs and turn right - nice terrace and a great mezcal margarita.
Red Frog: A speakeasy with great cocktails.
Corner Irish Pub: If you know us, you know we love a good Guinness. Unfortunately, we have yet to find a great one in Lisbon, but we did like this Irish Pub and rated the Guinness as “not bad” (and we’re picky). Live music and fun bartenders.
